The Nifty Cup

Cup feeding is one of the best way to give an infant expressed breast milk if direct breastfeeding is not possible. Together with Seattle Children's Hospital, PATH and the University of Washington, Laedral Global Health are soon launching the Nifty Cup. The cup is low cost and is designed in such a way that it encourages infant suckling and control of milk flow. It can also be sterilised by boiling it directly. It is currently being tested in Ethiopia with the promise to provide it at non-profit costs to 75 countries where the infants mortality rate is highest. Check out the video of mothers using it.
